Carrie Petersen

Carrie grew up just down the road from Salem in Albany, Oregon. After high school, she graduated from Seattle Pacific University and then returned to Albany to work as a newspaper reporter. After deciding on a career change, she moved to San Diego, California, where she graduated from California Western School of Law in 2013.

She has worked as a criminal defense attorney since 2014. Carrie worked as a deputy public defender in California in Placer and Santa Barbara counties. She returned to Oregon in October 2023 to continue her career as a deputy public defender at PDMC and live closer to family.

Carrie considers it a privilege to advocate for clients in the criminal justice system. She is passionate about helping people in their most difficult times and believes in holistic defense work. Carrie is excited to be back in the Willamette Valley and to work at PDMC.
