Jordy Bridges-Thomas
Support Staff, he/him
Jordy received a BA in both Sociology and also Law, Diversity, and Justice from Western Washington University, before attending Willamette University College of Law. Before working at PDMC, he worked as a residential counselor and a youth specialist.
Back in high school, Jordy was part of the Teen Court Club of Whatcom County, which aimed to have youth offenders come before a jury of their peers from different high schools. A small trial would be held to discuss analyzing proper restitution for the offenses the respondent committed. This could be in the form of counseling, fees, or community service. He was supported generously by members of the organization, including now-retired Judge Charles Snyder, who sponsored his attendance of leadership training in Crescent Beach, Canada.
He has realized that acting as a voice for his clients and engaging in advocacy work is his passion. He made it his goal to conduct research on systemic inequalities in topics like the school-to-prison pipeline to work towards a career in public defense and juvenile law. As a 2L at WUCL, he was lucky to connect with PDMC through networking, and what started as a small commission job turned into an amazing opportunity to broaden his skills in preparation for the Bar exam.
